A 60 Year Partnership

Narrate recently interviewed Sue and Richard Richardson. The Richardson’s children purchased a Familiar Conversations package to help celebrate their 60th Anniversary. Without fail, every time I interview people for the first time, I am amazed at the amount of wisdom people gather and sift through over the course of their lives. I’ve conducted oral histories and interviewed people for nearly two decades, and the conversations never fail to surprise and delight. The Richardsons life together centers around faith, family, new experiences, good works, and education. Both Sue and Richard led meaningful and generous lives as individuals and they have both come together to provide a rich and fulfilling life for their children, grandchildren, and community. The Richardson’s stories are complex and enriching; the reflect balanced values of faith, strength, and integrity. Their personal narratives are perfect examples of the great amounts of wisdom that we can share with our family and neighbors.

While starting a business is a daunting and difficult task, every time I’m fortunate enough to conduct interviews with individuals, I am reminded why Narrate is important. Narrate allows us to celebrate those we love and honor those people that brought us here, so that we may grow, gather knowledge, and write and live our own personal narratives. The Richardsons provide strong examples of lives well spent. Examples that we can all learn from.
